Building on MAC Ltd’s MONITOR product family, our CatchAll units combine these with additional functionality to realise RF receiver and transceiver products ready to be deployed in a wide range of real world applications. As well as being available pre-configured with standard application software, these units can also be supplied with application software developed specifically to meet your own requirements.

CatchAll™-M2 - Software Defined Receiver

The CatchAll-M2 packages a MON4000 dual-channel, multi-band receiver in an extruded aluminium enclosure together with a dedicated base card that enhances the capabilities of the basic MON4000 board, adding, amongst other things, support for reception in the 160 to 180 and 380 to 480 MHz RF bands.

The primary application of the CatchAll-M2 is as a VITA-49 radio transport RF front end to translate RF signals of interest to user datagram (UDP) VITA-49 IF data packets. The CatchAll-M2 also forms the basis of MAC Ltd’s CatchAll analysis system, a radio survey system designed to enable network operators verify the coverage of their networks. Of course, being a software-defined radio product, the CatchAll-M2 may also be used to implement a wide range of more bespoke applications. CatchAll™-M1 (DISCONTINUED)

The CatchAll-M1 combines a MON3100 baseband processor and a MON3600 wideband transceiver with a dedicated power supply and RF switching board to create a compact unit providing two channels of phase coherent or independently tuned reception and a single channel transmitter. Covering a frequency range of 200 MHz to 2500 MHz with a 20 MHz instantaneous receive bandwidth, it consumes only 10 W and is packed into a 100 mm x 100 mm x 60 mm volume.

The CatchAll-M1 is supplied pre-configured with generic transceiver firmware that translates received signals to baseband and streams the samples to a host PC. Similarly, samples may be streamed from the host PC to the CatchAll-M1 for transmission.

Users with the appropriate in-house expertise can take advantage of the significant on-board processing capabilities to design their own FPGA and DSP applications. Alternatively, MAC Ltd would be happy to discuss the development of bespoke applications - just ask.

CatchAll™-SE (DISCONTINUED)

CatchAll-SE is a small, low-power and light-weight system-agnostic radio survey receiver with dual band capability that uses the same RF sampling methodology as the proven CatchAll receiver - the de facto RF measurement receiver for TETRA systems when the RF signal sampling needs to be compliant with Lee Criterion. This sampling methodology supports the high sampling speeds required to combat radio channel fading due to rapid movement of the test vehicle or nearby objects.

Its small size makes CatchAll-SE ideal for walk-test measurements, and it incorporates an onboard accelerometer to enable more accurate position fixing when the walk-test progress is slowed or halted. CatchAll SE is currently available as part of the CRIBS™ walk-test and drive-test solution or as a standalone component for integration into larger test systems. A COM API is provided for OEM applications.

CatchAll™ (DISCONTINUED)

The CatchAll receiver provides highly accurate measurements of radio network coverage for network verification, configuration and optimisation of narrowband radio systems like TETRA, APCO-25, Tetrapol and GSM, with the ability to perform control channel decoding for some systems to enable cell site identification and SNR measurements.

Unlike conventional scanning receivers CatchAll uses advanced signal processing techniques to capture an instantaneous 'snapshot' of the power received on all the radio channels across a wide frequency band. With no requirement to retune between individual measurements CatchAll samples at rates well in excess of those achieved by conventional scanning receivers, allowing measurements of a large number of radio channels at normal road speeds.
